Our Story

What started as a daydream slowly grew into a mountain business.

As hikers, we are constantly dreaming of our next adventure — often retracing old hikes and daydreaming about new ones. One day we decided to bring these mountains to life. Terra Mano ("Earthy by Hand", in Latin) makes handcrafted maps of American landscapes: real terrain, 3D-printed and cast in bronze, built for the people who love these places.

We set out to bring together the community of outdoor athletes, activists, and artists — and to bring them to life through their inspiring stories. That became Stories From The Mountain, an interview series highlighting amazing hikers, climbers, and runners and the moments that shaped them.

The launch of Terra Mano was deeply tied to our backers and the mountain-loving community as a whole. We set out to make the world's greatest products for mountain lovers — and we had a lot of fun, and learned a lot, doing it. You can read the whole behind-the-scenes build process here.
